20 potential housing sites have been identified in Eversley as part of Hart District Council's emerging Local Plan. This does not mean that all, or indeed any, of these sites will be developed. No final decisions have been made.
Nevertheless, Eversley faces the prospect of housing growth, and we understand the concerns this raises about our rural character, roads, schools, healthcare and other essential services.
The reality is that we cannot simply say 'No' to all new housing. But we can help shape what happens next.
Our emerging Eversley Neighbourhood Plan must work within National Planning Policy and the housing requirements established through Hart's Local Plan. It can, however, provide locally informed policies to protect the separate identities of our hamlets, safeguard green spaces, wildlife and heritage, influence the design and location of development, and ensure that infrastructure needs are properly considered.
A strong Neighbourhood Plan gives Eversley a stronger voice in shaping its future.
Our aim is to accommodate appropriate change without losing what makes Eversley special. That is why the continued involvement and support of our community is so important.
We expect to have a Draft Neighbourhood Plan to submit early in the New Year. Your support is crucial to getting the plan adopted. We will be publishing the Vision and Objectives developed from your feedback to the community surveys and the Policy areas we will be developing soon. To find out more register on the website and follow our Facebook page (Eversley Neighbourhood Planning Group) where we will keep you up to date on progress.
Help us shape Eversley's future, while protecting the village we value.
We will be responding to Hart's Local Plan proposals. You can respond and provide feedback by creating a login on the Hart Consultation Portal, or an email is acceptable to [email protected]
